KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 (Bernama) -- While accepting defeat to South Korea, China's Uber team coach Li Yongbo however, promised that the Great Wall's team will return stronger, especially for the World Championship tournament in August, and the Asian Games in November.

Although he was a bit disappointed over the loss of the Cup after capturing it 11 times, he did not blame his charges.

"They performed well, but not at their best. But it's good when they lost so we'll mend our weaknesses," he told reporters here Saturday.

China lost 1-3 to South Korea in the Uber Cup Finals at Putra Stadium here today.

Their second doubles, Du Jing/Yu Yang failed to give the much-needed winning point, bowing out 21-19, 14-21, 19-21 to Lee Kyung Won/Ha Jung Eun after Wang Xin opened China's path, beating Sung Ju Hyun 21-14, 16-21, 21-17.

In the earlier matches, South Korea roped in two crucial points when Bae Seung Hee staged an upset when she downed World No. 1 Wang Yihan 23-21, 21-11 while the scratch pair of Lee Hyo Jung/Kim Min Jung tamed World No. 1 doubles Ma Jin/Wang Xiaoli 18-21, 21-12, 21-15.

Li said most of their women's players were young and unable to manage the mounting pressure on court.

"But we need more young players because they are our main target for the Olympic Games 2012 in London," he said.

Meanwhile, South Korean team manager Kim Jong Soo said there was no secret to his team's victory.

"China is a great team and everyone wants to beat them, and we beat them today. We're looking forward to meeting them in the World Championships in Paris in August," he said.
