Dolby, racing for the Tottenham Hotspur/Alan Docking Racing team, claimed fifth and third place finishes in the championship's fourth round at Jarama, Spain.

Dolby qualified midway down the gird in eighth for race one, but on a circuit famed for its lack of overtaking opportunities with the start pivotal, the Melton man slipstreamed three cars on the drag down to the first corner, jumping up to fifth.

The championship leader took fourth spot two laps later with a sumptuous move which began down the start/finish straight and ended a couple of corners later. Using one of his eight push-to-passes, Dolby latched onto the tail of FC Basel's Max Wissel and drew alongside.

Distracted, the German braked too late for turn one, allowing Dolby to nose inside before he completed the pass at the next right-hander.

Dolby established his fourth position, but when the leaders pitted for their mandatory stops on lap 13, he elected to stay out an extra lap, allowing FC Basel to make better use of its fresh rubber and jump ahead, leaving Dolby to finish fifth.

The fully reversed grid for race two once again provided drama and excitement. And just as in 2009, Dolby produced a stunning performance to carve through the field from 14th to the podium.

A bottleneck at the first corner saw Dolby go around the outside to jump up to 11th.

Three laps later he moved up a further three places following Maria de Villota's spin at the first corner, and Dolby then made seventh his own on lap nine with a move on Flamengo before pitting soon after.

And by the time the entire field had been in, Dolby found himself in third courtesy of his mechanics' excellent pit work.

While the leaders streaked away ahead, a struggling Dolby, on worn tyres and fading rear brakes, spent the remaining 30 minutes desperately defending from Liverpool FC driver Walker and the other nine drivers which had lined up nose-to-tail behind him.

Despite repeated attempts he held firm to take the chequered flag nearly 40 seconds adrift of the top two, but 0.5sec clear of Walker.
